SMS Messaging Program & Opt-In
Effective Date: June 13, 2026
1. Program Description
Short Stack Hawaii LLC operates a private workforce management platform used by our own business to coordinate staff. Our SMS program sends operational, transactional messages to our employees and team members about their work — for example, when a schedule is published, a shift changes, a task is assigned, or a team message/announcement is posted. This is not a marketing or promotional program.
2. How Employees Opt In (Call to Action)
Employees and team members provide express written consent to receive SMS messages directly inside their own account. The opt-in is completely optional and is not a condition of employment. To opt in, a user takes these steps in the app:
- Sign in to their account and open Settings → Text Message Alerts.
- Enter their own mobile phone number (including country code) and tap Save.
- Turn the "Text me alerts" toggle ON.
- By saving their number and enabling alerts, they agree to the consent statement shown on that screen (reproduced verbatim below).
Consent language shown to the user at the point of opt-in:
"By saving your number and enabling text alerts, you agree to receive SMS operational messages (schedule updates, shift changes, task assignments, and team messages) from Short Stack Hawaii LLC. Consent is not a condition of employment. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms."
Consent records (the number, the enabled setting, and the timestamp) are retained for audit purposes.
Actual opt-in screen inside the app (Settings → Text Message Alerts): the "Text me alerts" toggle, the mobile number field, and the consent statement the user agrees to.
3. Types of Messages You May Receive
- Schedule published: your upcoming shifts have been posted.
- Shift changes: a shift assigned to you was added, changed, or cleared.
- Task assignments & reminders: a task was assigned to you or is due.
- Team messages & announcements: a message or announcement from management.
4. Sample Messages
"Short Stack Hawaii: Your schedule for the week of Aug 4 has been published. Open the app to view your shifts. Reply STOP to opt out."
"Short Stack Hawaii: New message from your manager — please review the updated closing checklist. Reply STOP to opt out."
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your work activity (for example, when schedules are published or messages are sent to you). This is a recurring program.
6. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Short Stack Hawaii LLC does not charge for these messages; standard rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
7. How to Opt Out or Get Help
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and you will not receive further SMS messages unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP or contact us at the email below. You may also turn off "Text me alerts" in Settings at any time.
8. Privacy
Your mobile phone number and messaging consent are used only to send you the operational messages described above. We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number or consent information to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing. For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
